Part-Time (16 hours/week), immediate start date

The successful candidate will represent Cyber-Seniors in the Twin Cities, performing outreach to local high schools/youth organizations and senior centers, leading local Cyber-Seniors programs, and acting as a liaison to Teen Tech Centers supported by the Best Buy Foundation (BBTTC).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of (one) 1 year working in youth, teen or senior programming
  • Previous teaching or facilitation experience required
  • 16 hours/ week and 2 full days facilitating program sessions, conducting in-person meetings with local youth orgs, senior centres and high schools
  • Available 5 days a week from 9 – 5 by phone
  • Be able to work from home when not providing training or doing onsite visits
  • Intermediate computer skills a must
  • Must have access to the internet and own computer with recent Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be self-directed and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated organization and communication skills, self-starter
  • Disciplined enough to work remotely while still achieving set targets
  • Ability to travel locally to site visits, program sessions etc.
  • Previous knowledge or experience with a Cyber-Seniors program an asset
  • Agree to a criminal background check

Role & Responsibilities:

  • 2 half days/week to provide weekly classroom training, one-on-one instruction and in-class practice activities to prepare youth for their role as Cyber-Seniors volunteer mentors
  • 1-2 day(s) a week meet with local schools & youth organizations and senior community centers to promote and help implement the Cyber-Seniors program
  • Schedule bi-monthly check in meetings with Best Buy Teen Tech Center (BBTTC) teens to ensure they are continuing to progress in the CS program, including that their final chosen project is in line with their career goals
  • Source and arrange volunteer & internship opportunities for BBTTC teens with community partners
  • Work with community partners to ensure BBTC teens are provided with a positive work experience
  • Perform administrative duties (i.e. outreach and membership sales etc.) which support the local program & larger team as needed
  • Provide weekly coaching/guidance to BBTTC teens to ensure a high level of performance in their internship/volunteer positions
  • Attend weekly in-class program session(s) and be available to respond to BBTTC teens by email or phone on weekdays within 24 hours
  • Work with the BBTTC Lead at local program site to coordinate session dates, outreach and sign up senior citizens, discuss progress of teens etc
  • Work closely and report to the Cyber-Seniors Project Lead providing status reports & updates on weekly calls
