Episode One of “ASK ANNETTE”

Hello everyone,

Screen Shot 2014-07-23 at 10.20.48 AM

That is right! Annette will have her own video segment, which will be posted weekly on the Cyber-Seniors Facebook page. In it she will answer any questions asked to her, technological (no promise she’ll know the answer) or personal (and no promise she’ll be truthful). She will also be giving a tip of the week! We are very excited about this and you should be too. We’re sure these videos will bring smiles and laughs to all, so be sure to stay tuned. Read More

10 Year Olds Start Cyber-Seniors in Turkey!

Hi Guys,

Today I’d like to share with you, something really special. Nil and Seline are good friends, they are both 10 years old and they live in Turkey. They were given a project for school in which they had to create something of their own, something that would have a positive impact on the world around them. When Nil’s father was sent a link to our trailer, he showed it to his daughter. She watched it and immediately knew that this would be her big project. So, her and Seline started visiting a local retirement home to teach the seniors how to get online. (Any of this sound familiar. lol.) The video below is their project, check it out! Read More

Back from Texas!!! Thank you FCCLA.

Hi Guys,

We have just returned from San Antonio, Texas and the FCCLA National Leadership Conference. For those unfamiliar with the FCCLA, they are the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. We were invited to present a workshop to a group of youth members about the Cyber-Seniors program and were very lucky to have been able to speak to many of the 7,000 people in attendance. We managed to get a lot of interest and excitement around the program and we hope that this partnership will lead to great growth in the Cyber-Seniors Campaign. We have already seen great results from our presence at the conference; in two short days we received over 400 new pledges.

Hey Guys,

Happy Independence Day to our American followers, we hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Speaking of the United States, we will be heading down there this weekend. We are going to San Antonio, Texas for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference. We are very excited to have been invited to attend and to present at their. We will be doing a presentation for around 6,000 people, which is a bit scary but we are very happy to be able to speak to so many people. We are hoping to garner a lot of interest in the program and get more youth out there teaching seniors.

Updates and Upcoming Events.

Hi Guys,

Tomorrow is the last day we will be screening in Toronto. We have a had a great run in Toronto, at both the Carlton Cinema and the Kingsway Theatre. The film was only supposed to run one week at the Carlton but because of demand it ended up playing a total of four weeks in Toronto. It is great to see such support of our film, especially in the city where we reside. We’ve said it many times, but once again, thank you!

Be a Part of a Cyber-Seniors Program!

Hey Friends,

For those of you in Canada, Happy Canada Day!!!

Last week we were in Vancouver at the Kiwanis Care Centre. We were there to screen Cyber-Seniors and to aid them in launching their very own Cyber-Seniors program. Best Buy‘s Geek Squad, our partner in this venture, donated tablets and computers to the home and now, along with their help, the Kiwanis Care Centre will be getting seniors online. We had a great time meeting with all the prospective participants and the youth mentors and we wish them the best of luck with their program. We hope to get many updates along the way, to keep up with how the seniors and teens are doing.
