A Chat With ‘Cyber-Seniors’ Director: Social Media Through New (Senior) Eyes

According to a recent survey by the tech support company iTok, 66 percent of seniors who receive a technology gift (usually a phone or tablet) receive no help with the device. Some of them don’t need help of course, but 27 percent of respondents said they were intimidated by the technology. These days, learning tech can be the difference between connecting to loved ones and becoming isolated.

The documentary Cyber-Seniors, available for digital download today, is a funny and touching example of what can happen when young people help seniors learn the tricks of the Internet. The most obvious good is that older adults get the chance to connect with those they love, whether they live a few miles away or the other side of the world.
