Cyber-Seniors is a comedic documentary that follows the extraordinary journey of several senior citizens as they discover the magic of the world-wide-web, through the guidance of teenaged mentors. Their exploration of cyber-space is catapulted to a whole new level when 89 year-old Shura decides to create a YouTube cooking tutorial. This sets the ball in motion for a spirited YouTube competition where hidden talents and competitive spirits are revealed. The film is heartwarming, candid and humorous, and provides insight into the wonderful things that can happen when generation gaps are bridged, and new ways of connecting are explored.

Q & A or Panel Discussion – Guests are invited to the stage to discuss and/or answer questions about the film and subject matter. Guests can include local community leaders, industry experts or the following representatives from the film:

Cyber-Seniors Corner Booth – Audience member are given the opportunity to step into the ‘Cyber-Seniors Corner’ booth and record a YouTube video that will be featured on the ‘Cyber-Seniors Corner’ YouTube channel.

Tech Lab – Audience members are offered free tech tutorials and new product demonstrations. Participants can bring their own devices or try out new ones. Teenage volunteers are on hand to provide quick lessons and demos.

Saffron Cassaday – Director of Cyber-Seniors

Saffon Cassaday’s directorial debut, Cyber-Seniors, has screened in over 100 cities throughout North America to audience and critical acclaim.

Born and raised in Toronto, Saffron Cassaday travelled to New Your City immediately after completing high school to study acting at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Upon returning to Toronto, she continued to develop her craft both in front of and behind the camera. Saffron starred in the award-winning web series ‘Pete Winning and the Pirates’ and co-produced and starred in the Global TV series, ‘In the Key of Z’.

An entertaining and inspiring speaker, Saffron shares the enthusing story of how the film came to be and what she discovered along the way. Using clips from the film and sharing poignant anecdotes Saffron provides vivid examples of the wonderful things that can happen when human connections are made.

Kascha and Macaulee Cassaday – Co-Founders of Cyber-Seniors

Kascha and Macaulee came up with the idea of Cyber-Seniors in 2009 as a high school community service project. The sisters had witnessed firsthand how learning to use the Internet had transformed their grandparent’s lives. When Macaulee and her grandfather were both diagnosed with cancer during the filming of Cyber-Seniors, the Internet became an ever-important lifeline for the family, keeping them connected and supported during this difficult time. Now both at University, Kascha and Macaulee remain passionate about the Cyber-Seniors program and hope to inspire other young people to get involved.

A motivating and engaging presentation, directed at young people, on the importance of youth leadership and community service. Delivered in a fun, interactive format, with a clear call-to-action.

Brenda Rusnak – Producer of Cyber-Seniors

Brenda Rusnak is an entrepreneur with 35 years of business experience. She is also a wife, a daughter and the mother of Saffron, Kascha and Macaulee. In 2009, she founded Best Part Productions Inc., and produced her first feature film ‘Cyber-Seniors’.

Prior to her career as a film producer, Brenda was the CEO and President of a multi-million dollar healthcare company that she had controlling interest in. After selling her company at age 50, Brenda seized the opportunity to work along side her incredibly talented daughters, and to focus on a new career and a wonderful journey.

An experienced, dynamic, public speaker Brenda speaks from the heart in her delivery of this powerful and profound presentation on the importance of ‘Life Long Learning’, ‘Bridging the Generation Gap’ and ‘Staying Connected’.
