Film follows of a group of senior citizens as they discover the Internet

Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT), in conjunction with OPP and sponsored by Leacock Retirement Lodge, is presenting a screening of the documentary Cyber-Seniors.

To correspond with National Seniors Day Oct. 1, SALT is screening the documentary at the Orillia Opera House Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but SALT is asking for a small donation to support the programming of its monthly information meetings. Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis and, if required, a second screening will be added at 3 p.m.

A humorous and heartwarming documentary, Cyber-Seniors chronicles the extraordinary journey of a group of senior citizens as they discover the world of the Internet through the guidance of teenage mentors. Their exploration of cyberspace is catapulted to another level when an 89-year-old participant decides to create a YouTube cooking video. A spirited video competition for the most views evolves as the cyber-seniors’ hidden talents and competitive spirits are revealed.
